About the Creators...
Angela Gislason (BN, RN; MSW(c)) is a Registered Nurse and Mental Health Therapist at an outpatient clinic at Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, AB. She is currently finishing her master's degree in social work at the University of Calgary; Angela is an outdoor enthusiast and environmental activist.
Rebecca Robertson (BA; MSW(c)) is currently finishing her master's degree in social work at the University of Calgary. Born and raised in the Northwest Territories (in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region), Rebecca grew up learning about the importance of the land and wildlife. She is passionate about Indigenous rights and issues, renewable energy, clean technology initiatives, and community development (and hopes to engage with these all of these topics moving forward in her career).
Bobbi Michaud (BSW, RSW; MSW(c)), is a medical social worker, employed with Alberta Health Services. She is currently finishing her master’s degree in social work at the University of Calgary. Born and raised in northwestern Alberta on a small family farm, Bobbi is passionate about the important role that the environment plays in the lives of individuals, families, and communities.
Laura Kanik (BSW, RSW; MSW(c)) is passionate about being outside. She has a deep love of natural places and loves spending her time playing on snow, dirt, rock and water. Laura is currently finishing her master’s degree in social work at the University of Calgary and looks forward to future adventures in social work practice.
